Breaking Photographic Barriers - Ida Kar

Ida Kar was born in Russia in 1908. She went on to establish herself as a photographer in Cairo in 1933. In 1945, Kar settled with her second husband, Victor Musgrove, an art dealer, in the Soho area of London. She played a significant role in elevating photography to the status of an art form.

Kar went on to build her reputation in the photography field, taking pictures of well-known writers and artists. She died in 1974 of thrombosis in Bayswater on London's west side.
